Story:Richard is the oldest of three siblings born in a small coastal town in east Johto. His father was a miner and his mother a Pokemon breeder, so he learned a variety of skills at an early age. His first Pokemon was a Growlithe who came to be known as Robin, a friendship that proved to spark jealousy in his younger siblings. Richard, being the twat that he was at the age of ten, responded to the sibling angst by leaving home - a decision that he may never regret, as life since has been a grand adventure across various regional landscapes in exploration of new and exotic Pokemon.
While Richard has indeed made many new Pokemon friends, he could never prepare himself for the absurdity that such companionship has brought. At first proud to be in possession of a giant bird made of fire, Richard was intrigued and confused by Kluke's operation of an online dating service - when on earth did she have the time to start running a business? His Phione created a reality TV show and Anna's mother ran off to Hollywood. Citizen Snips is a criminal mastermind and Pinch writes best selling cookbooks. What has he gotten himself into?
Richard's long term goals obviously include exploring the world and meeting new friends, but more importantly he dares to defy normality. After all, what good is a boring old adventure that follows a typical structure? There is more fun to be had, as Richard has found out, in other areas - using Kluke to free a country from a tyrannical king, base jumping off an active volcano while an evil organisation fire Geodude at his parachute, and negotiating with with well-known pirates, all with his Pokemon friends, who follow his leadership however nonsensical the circumstances become.
